Ann Curry, the respected journalist and former co-anchor of NBC’s Today show, has come forward with heartfelt praise for Brooke Nevils, the woman who accused Matt Lauer of sexual assault. As Nevils prepares to release her memoir detailing her harrowing experience with the disgraced former Today show host, Curry has publicly recognized her as a “brave” and “good-hearted” individual.

Brooke Nevils, a former news producer at NBC, accused Matt Lauer of anally raping her during the 2014 Sochi Winter Olympics. Lauer has denied the allegations, but the accusations led to his dismissal from NBC in November 2017. Nevils took a leave of absence following the incident and never returned to her role at the network.
